The Little Way Playschool is a Catholic preschool that aims to develop a love of reading, a love of learning, and a love of community.
We aim to form students who are confident, kind, and happy.
Our goal is to provide positive learning experiences that will make our students ready and willing to learn.
St. Therese of the Child Jesus, the Little Flower, once said, “I am a very little soul who can offer only little things to our Lord.” Her “little way” is finding holiness in the ordinary events of daily life. It follows the idea that the smallest action, done with love, can be a great thing. We can make a difference in the world by the way we choose to live and act.
In the Little Way Playschool, every little thing is cause for celebration. We believe that our students, small as they may be, are capable of doing amazing things in their own little way.
NATURE OF THE PROGRAM
The Little Way Playschool is a Pre-K program designed to prepare children for learning, not only cognitively, but also socially and emotionally. It is experience-based and integrates play, art, movement and music in its engagement activities. It also includes Catholic Formation as it teaches social awareness and values development.
READING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
The love of reading is a good foundation for learning. Storytelling, show & tell, and borrowing library books are regular practices in all our classes. By providing opportunities to engage with stories, students develop their reading comprehension, writing skills, critical thinking, attention to details, and creativity.
TIME WITH TEACHER
We meet each child at his/her level. We conduct Time with Teacher, which are weekly one-on-one sessions to address specific target goals for each child.
To further develop the essential skills in our students, we also use the Get Set for School Curriculum by Learning Without Tears. It prepares our students in the areas of Readiness & Writing, Language & Literacy, Numbers & Math.
CO-CURRICULAR PROGRAMS
We believe in holistic learning, and that everything is a learning experience. We welcome opportunities that allow our students to widen their interests and deepen their understanding of themselves. We have partnered with like-minded organizations for our co-curricular programs. Our students get to join programs by Ready Steady Go Kids, Urban Ashram Yoga, Jiujitsu Manila, Beats & Steps Arts Academy, Rude Mechanicals Theater, Gym Lab, Silver Pod Studio, and Sky Dance Avenue Manila.
